Tai Chi Associates is an informal group of Tai Chi instructors and practitioners in the greater Wellington region who meet frequently to practise together, expand our range of Tai Chi forms and organise combined events bringing together Tai Chi students and enthusiasts from throughout the region.
We are dedicated to the maintenance of high and consistent standards in Tai Chi tuition, especially in Sun and Yang style forms and the Tai Chi for Health forms developed by Dr Paul Lam, and Chi Gong.
These Tai Chi forms are generally of a smooth gentle nature, suitable for people of all ages including those who may have difficulty with more vigorous exercise forms due to health conditions such as arthritis, back pain etc.
Tai Chi, the traditional Chinese exercise form practiced by millions worldwide, is a proven aid to health and fitness. It enhances balance and fitness and strengthens physical and mental coordination.
Recent research findings by the Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA, have clinically confirmed the remarkable health and fitness benefits of appropriate Tai Chi forms and shown Tai Chi to deliver more effective results than other popular exercise forms.
